Folks,
had an awesome weekend: went home to see my love and friends, watched a live football game and spent time on a fair dealing with design furtniture and how to spoil your place with cool stuff...and for the best part: i did it all with the best girl on the planet!
This outfit credits some stuff i saw on the fair, made by a company called "Newport". Those guys seem to be from Sweden, but their stuff is really very much Polo Ralph Lauren-like...no way i could not like this.
So, there it goes...

Prep in full swing...again. New tie, though!
Folks,
has been pretty cold today...but no worries, layering does the trick. And a vest will surely help to stay warm.
Sported the new vintage J. Crew tie, which arrived from Australia yesterday.
Answers, as always, go first:
@David: cheers, David. Ohters would call it "messy" :)
Is this prep enough?
And can you please not comment on that knot? It´s a mess, clearly, but i couldn´t do it any better. The silk was kind of reluctant...

From D to R/S/C with L
Bonjour Mesdames et Messieurs,
what a lovely friday for me: i´m having a day off and seized the opportunity to stay up long yesterday night, slept long and personally receiving today´s mail...and i´ll tell you, i was totally freaking out when i opened the package. Thx to C, who sent the lovely stuff i´m wearing today...preppare for full Preppyness!!

Oh, the overcoat is a vintage Aquascutum Trench coat made in the late 1960´s...it is in pristine condition, no signs of wear whatsovever...it fits perfectly and hell yeah, this is a statement. It tells the world i got style...or at least the guts to sport that thing in the real world :)
The picture on the right side was taken when i went back to DüDü´s central station...for all german readers: if you find the mistake, i´ll adward you a "Sophisticated reader" award :)
Now i am preparing to leave the house in order to see the most lovely one on the planet: getting home for my love! Awesome....
The comments:
@Anon: i´ll have some pics ready when i start sewing, i´ll promise. I´m likely to host pictures of how to make yourself a tie and bow tie just as well :)
@Julian: sweet man, thx for the praise. They´re made by Viccel, a turkish company. Really great stuff at very reasonable prizes.
@Marco: and i can´t wait to get the project started :)

There goes another one...
Fellaz,
nothing much to talk about, so just check out today´s outfit pics: in contrast to last time, i wore the herringbone jacket over the sport coat...keept me pretty warm likewise.

As always, no comment shall go unnoticed in here.
@Marco: i´ll keep you updated...i checked out the boots you mentioned...pretty expensive, aren´t they, if you take into consideration they´re not even good-year welted? ;)

Prep in full swing
Fellaz,
despite the sometimes foul conditions fall brings with him, i love this time of year for the possibility to layer garment over garment when leaving the house. Today i went full preppylike, with a herringbone tweed driver cap, a Polo Rugby knit tie, blue french cuff shirt, a heavy knit and my new tweed herringbone west. To top it of, i chose to wear my vintage houndstooth jacket.
Even if you don´t like that look, it felt so great wearing this: like i would drive my Land Rover into town, go to the pub and see the lads, afterwards spinning home to my vast country manner, seeing my wife and children, playing with puppies...until i realised: damn, i ain´t no English Landlord :)
Speaking about looks you definitely wanna go for: was strolling through P&C during my lunchbreak. They have some seriously great stuff on offer, like red / lilac cords (a pitty, there too roomy for me), tweed blazers with ellbow patches, same great scarfs, heavy knits....damn it, i could spent two grands on those goodies. But didn´t, unfortunately. But seriously, they have great stuff. Go check it out!!
Second big major plus today: left the office at 06:30 p.m., only to come home and see some packages for me on the doorstep. Whoaa!! I received my double breasted POW check sport coat, along with some shoes and the yellow-blue sheep embroidered tie. Such a great day...
Anyway, there you go, the picture work:

Replies to latest comments:
@Julian: thank you, Juls! Will hopefully have word on the tweed textile by end of next week...
@Marco: hell yeah, not that modest, ha? By the way: the scarf was a great catch from Zara...
@Mike: cheers Mike, i really appreciate it. You would definitely deserve the same.

The pink don´t cause a stink
Folks,
whohaaa, the last of the recently aquired ties had its first airing today. Ben Sherman, maker of that sweet black & white & pink tie would be proud of me, wearing it with a light pink linen sc and a go-to-hell paisley ps. Speaking about going to hell: i managed to combine houndstooth, stripes, paisley and herringbone all at the same time...

Apart from that, my raid for preppy / trad ties and stuff still continues. And every once in a while, i am successfull. Bought this vintage Brooks Brothers yellow and blue striped, sheep-embroidered tie via SF. Now, it´s not just talking, but straight business, ha?
@Thefuzz: it is, had to laugh hard myself :)
@Loveofmine: no need to, just click on the "Outfit" lable, and there you go :)
@Marco: it´ll be awesome, i promise. Will host pictures and stuff here, for sure!
