Signature look

Folks,

i had an awesome day today: it started off with feeling proud and confident when i got to work, continued throughout the day and ended with sipping beer and eating pizza with A and S, two of my colleagues. Nothing better than chatting, enjoying springtime and laughing together with people that matter.

Clothwise, today´s get-up included pretty much everything i like when getting dressed: colours, patterns, woolen ties, short trou and desert boots. If i had to choose a look that totally represents me and might serve as a dressing signature, that would be probably it.

The comments:
@Scott: well, that certainly might be told about my closet, too :). I´ll definitely check your latest additions!
@YankeeWhiskeyPapa: certainly, do you own one? ;)...that´s a cardy underneath...
@Prutha: thank you, mylady :)

Got the blues...not emotionally related

Folks,

had an awesome weekend: went home to see my love and friends, watched a live football game and spent time on a fair dealing with design furtniture and how to spoil your place with cool stuff...and for the best part: i did it all with the best girl on the planet!

This outfit credits some stuff i saw on the fair, made by a company called "Newport". Those guys seem to be from Sweden, but their stuff is really very much Polo Ralph Lauren-like...no way i could not like this.

So, there it goes...

Oh no, not again...oh yes!

Folks,

went to P&C during my lunchbreak, accompanied by my fellow co-worker I. She had to get her boo a new hoody, which i fully supported by strolling around through the subterrainian basement myself...but i didn´t buy anything (although i could have, clearly). Many great things on sale...now you ask why? Well, i made up my mind on how to spend the many grands i will own in the upcoming future, and i drew the conclusion to go for some things more individual, which means bespoke clothing. Yet, it takes time (and putting money apart) to fulfill this goal. So i try to reduce my OTR shopping to a minimum to get closer to that...but, for now, i stopped over at Roland Schuhe just across the street. Now, you know me, i would probably not be buying shoes there. But i fetched up some great inner soles for my rather cold and big shoes. Now they are perfectly fitting and my feet are warm: what else could you ask for? ;)

Anyways, enough with the talking, let´s get down to regular scheduled programming. This is what i wore today (lumberjackin´ around the world, as Mike of Inner City Stlye has called it):

A special thanks goes out to my fellow blog comrade Mr. Midwester, who has been kindly giving me that ridicously great Polo Chaps tie for free. Aaron, let me thank you once again and take my apologies for not stating it beforehand !!

The comments:
@Mike: sure you´re right, but you know me...that fooling around with colours is my game.Joint Lunchtime operation? Always...
@Republic: thanx a lot, exactly the same for you. With readers like you, i´ll be lucky as ever :)

Prep in full swing...again. New tie, though!

 Folks,

has been pretty cold today...but no worries, layering does the trick. And a vest will surely help to stay warm.
Sported the new vintage J. Crew tie, which arrived from Australia yesterday.

Answers, as always, go first:

@David: cheers, David. Ohters would call it "messy" :)

Is this prep enough?
And can you please not comment on that knot? It´s a mess, clearly, but i couldn´t do it any better. The silk was kind of reluctant...

Purple...rain? Tie? PS?

@Mistermidwester: your praise is highly appreciated!! Thank you for all your contribution, honestly.
@Mike: cheers, Bro! Hair´s growing its way :)...still a rebel, even when dressed in fine gowns :)
@Rachel: so glad you take your time every other day...thank you so much, Rachel!!

Latest aquisitions: a very nice, slim fitting pair of burgundy cord trou, a green/blue paisley tie by RPL and herringbone/leathter gloves.
Now i´m broke...but i look good :)

Outfit pics...if of interest

Guys,

i didn´t wear a lot of gentlemanly attire during my vacational break...just felt good to go without a tie (apart from the fact that i couldn´t take the whole closet with me)...so here i start again...

By the way, the green woolen tie was bought in Barcelona...along with those beauties: pure virgin wool by italian company St. Andrews, claimed to be handmade rarities. The two signs indicate that there have only been made 30 ties...i clearly don´t believe that, but they are still nice, aren´t they?

From D to R/S/C with L

Bonjour Mesdames et Messieurs,

what a lovely friday for me: i´m having a day off and seized the opportunity to stay up long yesterday night, slept long and personally receiving today´s mail...and i´ll tell you, i was totally freaking out when i opened the package. Thx to C, who sent the lovely stuff i´m wearing today...preppare for full Preppyness!!

Oh, the overcoat is a vintage Aquascutum Trench coat made in the late 1960´s...it is in pristine condition, no signs of wear whatsovever...it fits perfectly and hell yeah, this is a statement. It tells the world i got style...or at least the guts to sport that thing in the real world :)

The picture on the right side was taken when i went back to DüDü´s central station...for all german readers: if you find the mistake, i´ll adward you a "Sophisticated reader" award :)

Now i am preparing to leave the house in order to see the most lovely one on the planet: getting home for my love! Awesome....

The comments:
@Anon: i´ll have some pics ready when i start sewing, i´ll promise. I´m likely to host pictures of how to make yourself a tie and bow tie just as well :)
@Julian: sweet man, thx for the praise. They´re made by Viccel, a turkish company. Really great stuff at very reasonable prizes.
@Marco: and i can´t wait to get the project started :)
