A bavarian mix and match

Folks,

i usually dress to satisfy my own satorial likes, nevertheless i find it quite amusing to receive comments on my everyday get-up, may they be criticizing me or praising my style...today´s shirt-tie combo provoked my fellow colleagues to call it "bavarian from head to toe". Well, the shirt certainly could be used with Lederhosen, alas it has french cuffs...

The "mix and match" as indicated in the title above grounds on the fact that i matched the shirt to the shoes (red-red), the socks to the ps (green-green) and the tie to the jeans (blue-blue). Well, i am trying hard ;-)

Anyway, here´s what the guys named "bavarian":

The comments:
@B.Brumel: enchanté, Mr. Brummel! Thx for your comment!
@Scott: i´d be more than happy to give it to you, if you like it. It´s by Luciano Barbera :)

No more tweed for 6 months!

Folks,

yet another fine day on the shores of the Rhein: remarkably warm (about 11 degrees), a freshly blowing spring wind and loads of sunshine. To even top that off, i could leave the office quite early today and went sale shopping to Neuss, another raid to Tkmaxx then. What first seemed to be a complete waiste of time finally turned into a pleasing journey: i could score a cashmere / silk tie, a fully uncanvassed dark blue cotton blazer with working cuffs and a nice floral/paisley scarf...summer, get yourself through the door, i am ready!

As mentioned in the title: last time for tweed today. This kind of fabric will not reappear any sooner than october.
Sorry for the blurry pic, seems as if my camera even can´t stand tweed anymore...off ye go!

Before i start to answer your comments: i seized my early work´s leave to reorganize my tie collection, separating them into two batches: the silk ones and the woolen ones (or mixed fibers)...in my eyes i have now layed a solid base, but there is a lot of room for improvement :)

Finally, the comments:
@Love: shooting close-ups is the new way to go :)

Maybe a rework...but still good

Folks,

had yet another splendid weekend with my love, some nice food and chilling out on our couch...nothing too fancy, really.

When i thought about what to wear on this monday, i decided to go for some POW check and that lovely vintage orange woolen tie from Scotland. I´m pretty sure the upper half has been worn and shown here before, but what the heck, it still makes up a decent dress (and with the grey pants, it´s something new). Ah, and before you start complaining: the sc is tight in the waist, but not as much as it looks in the shots :)

Hope you had a great weekend, too!

A lot of commentaries over the week, here are the answers:
@Yankee-Whiskey-Papa: cheers!
@Scott: thanx a lot Scott. Honestly, i´ve been thinking to swap the shirt for something more neutral, but all i could have come up with would have been white...a blue just didn´t seem right. And for the tie: well, this one certainly is bold, but blended in nicely with the vest :)
@Margaret: i love it, too. Massimo Dutti, Barcelona :)
@David: cheers, David! The fabric has been specifically produced for german forum members of stilmagazin.com, it´s mid-heavy tweed cloth woven by Breanish.
@Anon: thanx for your praise, buddy! Been recently feeling like making some good improvements in terms of consistency. Still, failure occurs occassionally :)

Back in the game

Folks,

after an absence of ten days, i´m not yet fully recovered, but at least wearing some reasonable textile sheets wrapped around my outer shell. Starting with blue-striped shirt with contrast collar, a dark blue merino shawl collar cardigan and a grey tweed jacket. The pop of color springs from my new silk pocket square, a lovely gift by my Dad for my 26th birthday. You know, i´m a sucker for paisley, so this will easily become one of my favourites ;)

One thing noteworthy: i have the best colleagues ever! It is a common tradition to collect some money for the ones celebrating birthday. Normally you´d be given an amazon gift voucher, but i received a far better one: one valid to shop at one of my favourite local men´s wear stores! Whoaaaa, great! Thx a lot, guys :)

Anway, done with the talking..the pictures:

The comments, as you know:

@Mistermidwester: thank you so much for your support, Aaron. It really helped a lot. Concerning your fits, i gotta admit there has been some incredibly good stuff lately, the v-neck sweater was off the hook!
@David: cheers, David. Loafers are made by Markowski, a french brand. The tie clip is great, cool that i could give that hint ;)
@Yankee Whiskey Papa: thx, i´ll try my best :)
@Justin: thx :)
@Paisley Curtain: thank you so much for your support! Really appreciating it :)...my family voted many times, so i guess that´s legit :)
@Justin: i´m allright, as i said. But thanx for caring!
@Pratishta: thank you, Pratishta. Good to hear that you´re back on track!

Fashion contest

Folks,

right at the moment, i am taking part in a fashion contest hosted by french tv channel Arte. If you feel like supporting me with your vote, i´d be glad if you click HERE...

Apart from that, i went for some colourplay after yesterday´s purple-grey scheme...additionally, this is my last post for the next 10 days: i´m off to be medically treated and won´t wear nothing else than sweatpants and grumpy old sweaters.

Have yourself a good one and hope you´ll keep coming back on Monday, 28th of February :)

Purple pattern play

Folks,

after yesterday´s colourful get up with burgundy red, yellow, blue, white and tan, i decided to take one step back on the crazyness scale and went with grey all over the place. As you can tell by the pics following, the mess was caused by varying textures, this time: we´ve got stripes, dots, herringbones, checks and solids on display...From a colour perspective, it was blue, white, grey, black and purple. If i had to extinct all colours but one, my choice for "last shade standing" would be....na......purple :)

Additionally, i went to CFC today, accompanied by Mike of Inner City Style. Great folks there and plenty of cool stuff, reduced by 50%. Sale, baby! Still, i only bought two things: a knitted laple flower and a metal button.

Talking is done, let the music play:

Only one comment to answer:
@Aaron: cheers buddy, i´m looking forward to it :)

Style share, part three

Folks,

after attending Element of Crime´s concert yesterday, i didn´t manage to bring myself to bed in time, so i was pretty tired during the whole day. Sun cheered my up a bit but i still felt quite exhausted...anyway, what i was going to say is that the tie i´m sporting today is yet another great gift of my fellow blogman Aaron of Mistermidwester. His project Style Share has consistently stuffing me out with sweet ties and the least thing i could do is name him a great guy and share some pics :)

Answering your inquiries:
@Mike: not for the faint of heart, but hey, that´s me.
