Worn on friday, posted on monday

Folks,

had another beautiful sunny weekend with the lovely gf. I took pride in seeing her running 21 km, particpipating in a semi-marathon in M. She did great and i did nothing but sipping beer, playing a drum and trying to support her with sheer presence (not sure if that was helpful at all :-)).

Anyway, this was friday´s get-up:

The comments:
@Anon: cheers for checking by and leaving praise ;)
@Scott: thanx a lot, Scott!
@John: Haters gonna hate ;)...just kidding. Thx for the praise!
@Mistermidwester: cheers, homie :) Hope your kid´s doing well and your family is enjoying your little luck?

Damien, once more!

Folks,

it´s always nice to find out that you share certain feelings with others. Even the more so when both parties voice their thoughts concurrently, as happened today. I´m pretty much a music addict (apart from fashion) and was totally surprised when my colleague I told me she favoured the same bands like i do. Nice!

Clothwise i brought out the red slippers again, a db jacket and a bow-tie. Calling for spring, i´d say.

The comments:
@Scott: you´re welcome...don´t know how to incorporate those two ties yet, but i guess i´ll find a way :)

No more tweed for 6 months!

Folks,

yet another fine day on the shores of the Rhein: remarkably warm (about 11 degrees), a freshly blowing spring wind and loads of sunshine. To even top that off, i could leave the office quite early today and went sale shopping to Neuss, another raid to Tkmaxx then. What first seemed to be a complete waiste of time finally turned into a pleasing journey: i could score a cashmere / silk tie, a fully uncanvassed dark blue cotton blazer with working cuffs and a nice floral/paisley scarf...summer, get yourself through the door, i am ready!

As mentioned in the title: last time for tweed today. This kind of fabric will not reappear any sooner than october.
Sorry for the blurry pic, seems as if my camera even can´t stand tweed anymore...off ye go!

Before i start to answer your comments: i seized my early work´s leave to reorganize my tie collection, separating them into two batches: the silk ones and the woolen ones (or mixed fibers)...in my eyes i have now layed a solid base, but there is a lot of room for improvement :)

Finally, the comments:
@Love: shooting close-ups is the new way to go :)

Tie blow-out

Folks,

as indicated yesterday, my colleagues gave me a gift voucher for a birthday present, and hell, did i spoil myself today...went totally nuts on a preppy-belt and some cashmir and woolen ties...awesome:

Today´s wardrobe consisted of another self made bow, some cords and a checked sweater with a button-down shirt. I felt pretty trad today, although some might surely say i lack the spirit of Oxford (or the brains, which definitely is the case): anyway, i felt great wearing it and that´s all that matters.
Plus: i went to see Julian for finally getting my hands on my first bespoke clothing item. Julian really did an unbelievably great job in cutting, styling and sewing my double breasted vest, made from tweed. I´ll host pictures of this beautiful item the day after tomorrow...Julian, i´ll see a great future for us working together coming up! :)

Talk is cheap, here´s what you all are longing for:

Note to self: shave...

The comments:
@Scott: thx man, i´ll try my best to keep you folks entertained :)

Taken over the weekend

Folks,

spent a lovely weekend with my gf and some dear friends (and the hairdresser)...attire has been wicked, as always. The following ensembles have been worn on three successive days, from friday throughout sunday...and yes, this is yet another selfmade bow tie, all handsewn by me and finished by my supermum ;)

Saturday...right after my visit to the coiffeur...

Sunday finals...red cords / grey cardy / Grensons again.

Rework on a vintage tie...colourplay included

Folks,

as indicated in one of my posts before, i now host a banner of my turkish friend Kemal´s company Viccel. If you feel like trying out his socks (i am owning 16 pairs myself), you can click on that banner, thus being entitled a 20% discount of your total cart. If you don´t, no worries, you´ll just miss some great socks.

Anyway, this is not what you came here for. My totally insane lust for colours has brought a new creation to life: i turned a vintage Rooser tie from a previous post into a bow tie. Alongside with my self-made lapel flowers, it came off pretty dandy. Hope you don´t mind me fooling around like that. Well, and if you do: i don´t care, that´s just me :)

Time to answer your sweet words:
@Rachel: you´re way too sweet, Rachel! Tell me, how far´s your boy gotten in learning his skills? Already working on some pieces? totally consent on everything you´re saying, in my opinion going for bespoke means building a lifetime piece of textile that resembles your character and who you really are (quite pathetic to put it this way, but that´s just what i feel like).
@Justin: i envy your skills, man...your post about those balmoral boots nearly killed me. I´ll host some of the pics soon, if i may!
@Mistermidwester: let me thank you once again, Aaron!! And hey, i´m totally fine with you not liking a thing, i really appreciate your thoughts on what i do.
@Bigio: cheers man, had a sneak preview on your blog...awesome stuff!

Life is grey enough...

Folks,

back to regular scheduled program...working that is, and getting dressed up for that purpose. The day has been rather damp and i didn´t see a single ray of light sticking through all the haze...so i decided to add colour by throwing together various pieces of my wardrobe. Additionally, you might have already noted my admiration for the "onion principle": layering means being able to wear several pieces at a time, purposefully in accordance to the surrounding temperatures.  And to top everything of, i am wearing one of my selfmade bow ties, handcrafted by me and my mum. If you feel like you got to have your own, just drop me an email using reg.spoozy@googlemail.com

Additionally, i finally got hold on my new socks from turkish manufacturer Kemal Onyurt of Viccel Socks. I came across his business when surfing on different forums and have been ordering new socks ever since. Colours are just outbursting, and the quality of his garments is beyond doubt. If you´re in search for some new socks, i´ll guess you should have a try. Attentive as you are, you might have noticed the Viccel Banner being hosted under my blog header. If you feel like shopping, you can get a 20% discount by clicking it. Sure, i´m making money if you do, but it´s really up to you. If you don´t like it, just don´t click it...i´ll always stick to what this blog is about: things i like and which i can recommend by personal experience.

To even top that of, i´ve been checking H&M during my lunch break and guess who i met: Mike of Inner city style. Initially, i didn´t plan to buy anything, but i couldn´t let go of these two great things: a red and black puffy vest and a double breasted cardigan made from heavy wool. Both were a great catch, taking into regard their sale price (15 € each). Jackpott, baby!

The following pictures have been taken by Bini on the subway of New York. As you can tell by the pics, she has a good eye for details and a great sense of style when she sees it. If you are a fashion photographer as well and want to submit pictures, just drop me a line using reg.spoozy@googlemail.com
