Hell´s gates must be wide open

Holy moly,

if it´s true what they say about hell (tortured souls, acid smell, bloodboiling heat), than hell opened its doors today in DüDo. Normally i feel relief when i leave the office for better, but today i felt better leaving the outside world to get back into the office...it was like somebody wrapped you with a big blanket, put you into the microvace and roasted you for 30 minutes...

I´m pretty sure you´ll understand that i did not wear a jacket today, just a simple white shirt, a knit tie, khaki linen pants and boat shoes.

Apart from that, i have been to the tailor once more, which proved to be both exciting and desillusionating at the same time. I have been buying a vintage Loro Piana tan coloured suit and thought to have the trousers lengthened a bit...NOT! No way the guys could work that out and they really know what they do. In order to get that jacket fitted to my body perfectly, i will need to spend 120 € on alteration services...i really felt my tailor pitting me for this piece of cloth (although the grip of the Loro Piana fabric is really soft and great).

I felt grief when the chief tailor said: "Boy, start buying jackets that fit your body and don´t come here so often, spending so much on alteration".

Hence, this is what i will do: i´ll follow his recommendation and will not buy jackets that need to be altered at a rate 3 times higher than the original purchase prize. The next jacket i am going to buy will be either semi-bespoke or fully bespoke (depending on financial powers to date) and it´s gonna be double-breasted, slim cut to the bone.

  2. I'm loving how the tie ends :)

The thing I love about India is tailoring is so inexpensive.. If you ever visit, come armed with concepts or designs and someone will definitely make it (well) for you for a fraction of the price. I promise! :)

  3. Bespoke is the way to go. Have a master tailor make a suit for your measurements WITH Loro Piana fabric. You are looking at around $3,000 for the suit but so worth it....OR you could just get the jacket made for you which would be a bit easier on the wallet... :):) I can't wait to see it on you!

    Good luck with the heat.

@Republic: Yeah, if i ever come round the place, i´ll sure plan some time for seing tailors. Any advice where to go?

@Rachel: i definitely shall consider this as an option. That might prove a very reasonable decision in the end :)
